If you count all the money I’d spent on coaching, programs, events, software and every shiny object that caught the corner of my eye I was at a loss of about $43,500 ish …
I’d spent every penny I had on this business to the point that I’d starting walking the 5kms to work in the middle of winter 🥶 because I had no bus money and was basically surviving on free snacks in the office ...
A little embarrassing to admit that as a sales trainer I was unable to makes sales for the entire first year of running my business 🙈
I honestly knew nothing about online business and I’m NOT tech savy at all but I was committed so I signed away all my time, my weekends, my money, my sanity and ……..
NADA, nothing, crickets 😅
After my business started to grow all my mistakes started to become clear including but not limited to:
❌ Spending way too much time building a website with no solid strategy to direct quality traffic there (actually any traffic if I'm keeping it real)
❌ My niche was super wishy-washy and all my messaging was off so my ads totally flopped
❌ Didn’t have a very good customer journey process in place to build the know - love - trust factor with my audience
❌ Countless hours perfecting a program to the point that I kept telling myself I needed to learn more before I was ready to teach people
BUT the biggest thing I learned is the importance of understanding where you’re at and what is worth spending your time and money on ….
Which is HARD when you have massive shiny object syndrome ✨ 💎 ❇️ accompanied with fear of failure that keeps you "busy" doing things that make you feel like you’re getting things done but aren’t actually bringing clients in ...
I didn’t need business boot-camps that talked about all kinds of things including how to sell your business when I didn’t even have a business
OR learning how to build an awesome training program when I had no idea if It would sell 🤦🏽♀️
Cutting to the chase, it took me a long time and a lot of misdirected focus to get my business off the ground but once I did It went from $0 to $100,000 in 6 months
Now I know this isn’t any crazy ass 0 to 7 figures in 3 weeks story but I was finally off the ground ..
In that time my audience has grown, sales went up every month, my workload actually went down and I’ve been invited to incredible events including a private party with John Travolta - umm what the actual !
So in September I ran a 5 steps to 10k challenge that took people through the 5 basic steps that I followed to get to my first 10k in my coaching business and also my first 20k month
We had several women signing on their first high paying clients!
A couple of girls signed on two clients 💥
And two girls signed on three clients IN ONE WEEK 🤯.
